Award-winning Gulf Coast firm sharpens its focus on established businesses valued at $1 million to $10 million
ORANGE BEACH, Ala., October 2026: TNT Business Brokers, one of the most decorated business brokerage firms in the country, is now TNT Mergers & Acquisitions. The new name reflects the firm's focus on owners of established, seven-figure businesses preparing for a confidential sale. The firm's website has moved to tntmergers.com.
Founded in 2021 by Gene Townley, TNT has sold 118 businesses worth $109 million across 27 states. Townley has received the International Business Brokers Association's Deal Maker Award every year since 2022, given to the top 1% of brokers worldwide, and in 2025 the IBBA ranked him #14 in the world by number of businesses sold. He has also been named to the IBBA's Platinum Chairman's Circle every year since 2023.
"Most of the owners who call us have spent twenty or thirty years building something," said Townley. "They deserve a firm that has done it too. My wife Wyndee and I started or bought fifty-one businesses before I ever became a broker, and we sold thirty-three of them. The new name says what we do: we sell established companies, confidentially, for what they're really worth."
Townley came to brokerage the long way. For years he closed businesses he could have sold, because he didn't know business brokers existed. Then a broker sold a newspaper he would happily have let go for $20,000 for nearly $175,000, and the lesson stuck. After later selling his largest business and retiring at 45, he got licensed himself. A friend's automotive shop became his first listing; it closed in 82 days, and TNT was born.
The name changes; the way the firm works does not. TNT charges no fee of any kind until a sale closes, and valuations are free. Prices are built on what a lender will actually finance, so listings sell instead of sitting: since 2024, 74% of the listings TNT has taken have sold, in an industry where most listed businesses never sell at all.
Confidentiality is built into every step. Buyers sign a strict confidentiality agreement before they learn a company's name, and tax returns are released only after a signed offer. With a typical broker, a seller's returns can reach dozens of prospective buyers; with TNT, they reach one. In 98% of TNT's closings, not even the general manager knew until after the sale. Every Confidential Business Review, the document buyers use to evaluate a business, is written personally by a published author, not generated by software.
TNT is a family firm of six, by design. Wyndee Townley, co-owner and principal broker, manages every transaction through escrow to the closing table. The firm markets its listings to more than 14,000 buyers who have signed its confidentiality agreement.
TNT serves owners across 37 states, Puerto Rico, and much of the Caribbean, from offices in Orange Beach. Townley is a regular guest on The Price of Business, where his segment "The Exit Strategy" covers what owners need to know before selling.
